Whether you are from the Chicagoland area or visiting I wanted to give you the guide to the Yorktown Center so you can have an easy and fun experience with your kids! We all need somewhere to go with the little ones during the cold weather and this is a great place. Here is what you need to know.
Train & Bounce House
FunFlatable is a great way to get out the energy with the bounce houses. It’s $9 a day, so you can go jump for a bit, then do some shopping, grab something to eat and finish the visit with some more jumping!
Free train Tuesdays! Within the FunFlatables area they have a train for ages 18 months and up. We especially love to visit the mall on Tuesdays since each child gets 3 free rides.
Play Area & Cars
The PLAY Area in Center Court is mostly enclosed so you can sit back and relax with your coffee while the play! It includes
- Space for building with blocks
- Climbing up the play space with a slide to come down
- A small rock wall
- Baby area with interactive toys
- Large tablets on the walls for games
There are are many cars for the kids to ride on for $1 each. Most of them include 2 seats for the kids to share a ride. My kids favorite is the big race car!
Visit Santa! Currently Santa is at Yorktown Center, you can come bring the kids to take a picture with him. If you are just passing by feel free to stop by and say hi to him too. We do so almost every visit and my kids have so much fun talking to Santa.
They also keep with up with other events such as visits from the Easter Bunny and Halloween fun with trick-or-treating and more.
Grabbing something to eat at Yorktown mall is easy with their many options. They have Mexican, Mediterranean, Japanese, Italian, Sushi and more.
I love to pick up some mini pretzel dogs from Auntie Anne’s for my kids and eat at the little tables perfect for their size. They make it very easy and fun to bring them out and enjoy lunch together. Currently this area is even decorated by Brookfield Zoo showing fun facts about pollination for the kids to enjoy looking at and reading too.
Changing Area & Nursing Rooms
One of my favorite parts of the mall is this area! It’s funny the things we moms get excited about. As a mom of 3 that is out with my kids usually by myself, this changing and nursing area makes those not so fun things so much easier! They have set up a designated area for you to change your baby with plenty of space for multiple parents to use. There is a large TV with seats for siblings to watch a children’s show to keep them entertained while you take care of business.
They also have 2 rooms with a nice chair for moms to nurse the baby in private if you would like to! You can also still see your other children as the sit by the TV during this time.
This is a serious game changer.
I couldn’t forget to talk about the shopping of course! They have many of my favorite stores to shop for the whole family. I especially love Last Chance which is a discounted Nordstrom store where you can find great deals for everyone. Marshalls, HomeGoods, Gymboree, and American Eagle are also some of my top picks.
Be sure to bring your stroller and snacks for the kids and you will be all set shop!
Enjoy your visit!
